The Way We Use Information
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order, fulfill the requested services, and send communications related to our service if you register (for example, we may send a “thank you” package for your patronage). We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. Typically, we share the necessary information with our editors in order to proofread your documents.
We will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account. To deactivate your account, please email info@editorlive.com. After we receive your deactivation email, we will remove your application from our database.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals. To accomplish this type of analysis, we use both log and cookies file data.
Like most standard Website servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information, except to prevent fraud.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies for navigation and browser session maintenance and to understand traffic patterns generally on our site. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. Session ID cookies are not tied to your personal information. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Website.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also giving you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Service Providers
We use Authorizenet.com to provide credit card processing on our site. When you sign up for editing services, we will share billing information as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

This Web site contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by EditorLive. Please be aware that we, EditorLive, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
