The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the EditorLive Web site. On some pages, you can submit an application to become an editor or register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected on these pages are:

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, contact us at support@editorlive.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

The Way We Use Information
We use the information you provide about yourself when registering for employment as an editor and send communications related to your registration. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your employment registration.
We will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account. To deactivate your account, please email support@editorlive.com. After we receive your deactivation email, we will remove your application from our database.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Web site and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our Web site, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals. To accomplish this type of analysis, we use both log and cookies file data.
Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files. This includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information, except to prevent fraud.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies for navigation and browser session maintenance and to understand traffic patterns generally on our site. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. Session ID cookies are not tied to your personal information. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.
If EditorLive is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

Our Commitment to Data Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (social security number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). How We Communicate with Our Clients
EditorLive may send updates on new features. We will send no more than 3 emails per year. We never share your email or personal information with other companies or third-party vendors. If you do not want to receive our email updates, uncheck the check box in your user profile or on the registration form when you first create an account.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
